Visual Identity

The Glasshouse Cafe is a new, family-run business housed within California Home & Garden, situated just outside the capital of New Zealand. With new management and a new name, some fresh branding was required to help get the business off the ground.

As a starting point for the new branding, inspiration was drawn directly from plans for the physical glasshouse structure which will encapsulate the cafe in the near future. The fine outlines of the custom logo type reflect the wooden frame that will form the skeleton of the glasshouse, meanwhile the transparent fill mimics the glass windows. Layering this unique logo mark over images of dense flora and fauna illustrate the cafe’s vision of creating a cosy green oasis for garden shoppers seeking a bit of R&R during their visit.

This project required not only a single logo mark, but a variety of versatile brand assets that could be used across multiple touchpoints. At this stage brand collateral covers items such as menu boards, counter signage, food labels and uniforms, as well as some digital assets like website banners and social marketing. Overtime as the cafe grows and develops, so too will the visual identity, so watch this space!
